Every platform now wants something different. YouTube wants long videos and Shorts. Instagram wants Reels. LinkedIn wants native video and text posts. X wants clips. WhatsApp channels want quick updates. No creator or brand has the time to make original content for all of them. The ones who show up everywhere aren't filming more. They're repurposing.
Repurposing done by hand is slow: scrubbing through a long video for moments, cutting each clip, reframing to vertical, captioning, adding branding, and exporting each one. Repurposing done by software is a pipeline that runs every time you publish.
What goes in, what comes out
The input is one long video: a YouTube episode, a podcast, a webinar, a lecture, or an interview. The output, automatically, can be:
- Five to ten vertical Shorts and Reels of the strongest standalone moments.
- Horizontal clips for LinkedIn and X.
- Audiogram-style clips for podcast promotion.
- Quote cards with the best lines over a branded background.
- A blog post or newsletter draft written from the transcript.
- Chapters, a description, and title options for the original video.
How the pipeline works, step by step
1. Transcribe and understand
The video is transcribed with word-level timestamps. AI then maps the structure: topics, transitions, questions and answers, stories, and strong statements.
2. Find the moments
Candidate clips are scored on whether they make sense on their own, open with a strong hook, and end cleanly. A custom pipeline can also score them against your own history: what kinds of moments have performed on your channel before.
3. Cut and reframe
Each clip is trimmed to clean start and end points, then reframed for its platform. For vertical video, face and subject tracking keeps the speaker centred, and multi-speaker footage switches to whoever is talking.
4. Style and brand
Captions in your style, your logo, a hook title in the first seconds, and a call to action at the end are applied automatically, identical across every clip.
5. Review, schedule, publish
Clips land in a review queue. You approve, tweak, or reject each one, and approved clips can be scheduled across platforms. Rejections teach the system what you don't want.
“You don't need more ideas. You need more out of the ideas you've already recorded.”
Why custom beats a generic clipping tool
Generic clipping tools are a good start. A custom pipeline goes further: it uses your exact brand styling instead of a template, learns from your channel's performance, handles Hindi and Hinglish properly, plugs directly into your storage and publishing tools, and runs automatically when a new video is uploaded, with no manual export and re-upload.
At The Company Behind, we build custom repurposing pipelines for creators, podcasters, educators, and brands. If you're publishing long videos and only getting one post out of each, we'd love to show you what the other nineteen could look like.
